I was singing loudly when I was really small. I can remember I was singng all the time.
When I was around 10, Sister Act, the film, moved my heart and I thought 'I want to sing like them.'
But unfortunately I couldn't join the Gospel choir and all I could do was dreaming of that alone.
Years passed and when I was in junior high, my mom gave me a CD of The Beatles as a Christmas present. I listened to The Beatles over and over again. And I thought THIS is the music.
And when I was 15, there was the most important encounter in my life ever; Whitney Houston.
She told me exactly what singing is and how to sing. And because of her, my life as a singer was started.
I practiced to be able to sing like her all by my self. I felt my potentiality, but immediately I failed.
However, I didn't stop to sing. I couldn't stop. All because I loved to sing even though I can't make it.
So I tried to listen to a lot of great singers for being a great singer myself.
Like Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, Kelly Clarkson, Lauryn Hill and so on. But I don't know why I listened to only female singers. The great male singer I knew was only Stevie Wonder or Elvis Presley.
But when I was 18, my friend asked me to sing Freddie Mercury (Queen) and gave me their CDs.
It was shocking. I was so impressed with him and their music and found how amazing Rock is.
Then I fell into Rock. And I have listened to so many bands and artists or singers of Rock.
Of course, though I fell in love with Rock, I've listened to not only Rock, but also Pop, R&B, Soul, Jazz and lots of kind of Music. I love every one of them. The more I listen to lots of songs, the more I love Music.
And Now 22, my career as an artist, Barocka Ogen, just started.
