A native of North Carolina, now residing in Los Angeles, Jensen Reed provides a fresh take on hip-hop today with his "melodic, alternative" style of song writing and production. Jensen’s production style features live acoustic and electric guitars, live bass, true analog synth sounds, orchestral sounds, and heavy-hitting drums. His insightful lyrics are a product of personal experience while the melodies echo his pursuit of the dream. Jensen’s live show is filled with the emotion and energy that one would expect of an accomplished performer in his prime.
In just over a year, he has performed at a number of sold out shows at large venues in L.A. including opening up for Evidence and Dilated Peoples at the Temple Bar in Santa Monica and Pigeon John at The Knitting Factory Hollywood. Last month Jensen performed at a major label A&R showcase at Safari Sams in Hollywood. Labels in attendance included Capitol, Thrive, Geffen, Interscope, Def Jam, Universal, and Warner Brothers. He received overwhelmingly positive feedback on his music and performance. Most recently Jensen rocked a sold out at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood opening up for Little Brother.
