Mari Yamashita

Mari Yamashita (Vibraphone＆Marimba player/Composer) Born 1973 in Mie, Japan. Mari learned the classical piano at the age of 3 and the percussion at the age 9. Upon graduating from the Senzoku Gakuen College with a classical music degree. She received the Maeda Music Prize and Japan Classical Music Competition Special prize. In 1999, She enrolled the Berklee College of Music in Boston. She has also studied with Ed Saindon, Dave Samuels, Victor Mendoza and Nancy Zeltzman. In 2003, She went back to Japan to begin her professional career as a musician, composer. In 2007, Recorded first CD "Erato" as a leader. With amazingly talented musicians.
