It was early September in Tokyo and the 10 o'clock whistle had blown. Kate Sikora, dressed in black chiffon and high heels, was pouring herself a birthday whiskey when her heart went out to a miserable ponytailed girl sitting alone at the bar. She pulled Lindsay out of her seat for an impromptu Charleston and they had chemistry. Soon the two were spending evenings in Akihabara after work, burping into microphones and fervently rehearsing hymns and theme songs from makeup commercials. Kate taught Lindsay how to cook breakfast for a man, and Lindsay taught Kate how to make a good prank call. Now the two live together, sharing a French press and going for evening walks with all their dogs and children forever and ever.
