With its concept "Electric Hi-Fi Funk", Modern Tool set in motion in 2006 on a digital music store HRFQ.com run by the Japan’s largest club music web higher-frequency. Every single track released on Modern Tool has appeared in the HRFQ top-chart across the genres and enjoy the long-run attention among the listeners with an ear for the next generation of dance/electronic music.

[NEWDEAL = HITOSHI OHISHI] (DJ/Producer/Engineer)
Debut with [NEWDEAL EP] on a UK prestigious techno label PRIMEVIL in 2000. His first album [metronomerampage] on a Japanese techno legend FROGMAN Records was released in 2003, followed by a converse TV CM track [bleat blip every trip]. He released his second full album [PAUSE] under the alias NEWDEAL, which he now use as his main artist name. In 2005, Hitoshi Ohishi had a new creative challenge, collaborating with five visual creators (inc. KLOMA, devicegirls, and mmm), which resulted in a DVD+CD package [parallel] followed by his flagship album [fudge] in 2006. THEN finally, in this year 2008 November 5th, his long awaited new album [GRIMY] was out in Japan. This new rave-y, techno electro album will surely gain him further popularity and make him standout in the current music scene.
His talent as a remixer is also noticed by many artists such as Layo & Bushwacka! and Hakan Lidbo (Stockvholm Decadence), as well as domestic top-selling major artists Orange Range, SKB (Skebo-King), etc.. He is a member of a band the samos, too, being responsible for track making, arranging, and engineering, The samos debut album [KAFKA HIGH] was released in August 2007 on the major BMG. Not to forget his contribution to the Japan’s biggest export: Japanimation, NEWDEAL provided his original tracks for this world-renowned TV animation [Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN].
On the top of all of these, Hitoshi Ohishi always rocks the crowd on the dance floor. He extensively plays his live and DJ sets every weekend, from the largest clubs and outdoor festivals (e.g. Fuji Rock Festival) to the hip under-ground venues. His floor play is highly welcomed by the audiences abroad, too, he has played in Germany (Berlin, Köln, and Düsseldorf)and in France (Montpellier).
Now, Hitoshi Ohishi has moved on to the next step, started his private on-line label Modern Tool.
