PROPHESIA

PROPHESIA was found by 2 main musicians, the vocalist Akira from one of Japan's leading heavy metal bands AZRAEL, and Michael from a Japanese melodious hard rock band XANADU, which split up in 2005. The origin of the band was back in a metal event held in Tokyo after the split of XANADU. The cover band was led by Akira on vocals and Michael on guitars. Akira and Michael jelled well together and got along with each other in that cover band, and then naturally with chemistry they decided to start a band with original songs. Takao on bass and Tashiro on drums were chosen because Akira and Michael could feel that they are the ones to realize their music as well as they are good friends of them for a long time. This is the origin and start of a band called PROPHESIA. They soon started writing original songs and after several rehearsals, finally 3 songs were recorded as demos to introduce what PROPHESIA is. They promoted themselves with 3 song demo to Mandrake Root which was a famous independent Japanese heavy metal label and they were recommended to participate in a heavy metal demo bands' contest which was being held by the label. Of the many demos that entered, PROPHESIA won the championship and as the prize of championship Mandrake Root pressed their demo to be released as EP and distributed exclusively in Japan. The demo CD was highly estimated among Japanese heavy metal fans and some metal freaks from overseas. After the EP was released, they started writing more and more songs as well as several gigs, increasing more and more fans. They captured not only the fans of AZRAEL and XANADU but also the fresh fans. Once they had enough songs with confidence, they started preparation for the first full-length album. In addition to 4 musicians on the EP, Yuhki ..boards, who is known as the keyboard player of GALNERYUS, ARK STORM and ALHAMBRA, was announced to play keyboards as the guest player on the album. With these 5 talented musicians, the first full-length album was born and released by Black-Listed Records in 3rd. March. 2007. The amazing first full-length album, Eye Of The Storm, shows their never-thirsting and world class talents for the possible releases in all over the world. Their music is melodic power/speed metal with elegant and symphonic elements, and at the same time delicate aspects can be shown in the song 'Lionheart.' On the other hand the song 'Living For The Night' pursues the possibility of heavy metal music. Each song on the album has its uniqueness and proves that PROPHESIA is ready to rush out to the world. This album has been highly estimated among Japanese heavy metal scene and even with reactions from overseas. They have had several gigs with 5 musicians on Eye Of The Storm, and at the same time started to write more and more new songs with rehearsals. During this period, Ayuco, the permanent keyboard player in replace of Yuhki who has been the guest player, was confirmed and announced. With the permanent keyboard player, and fresh line up, they recorded and released 3 songs EP with 2 new songs and 1 song on the first album with another version. These new songs on the EP show that PROPHESIA has been growing and progressing higher and higher. Soon after the release of the EP and some gigs, unfortunately due to personal reasons, Ayuco had to leave the band. However, in spite of the unfortunate surrounding situation among PROPHESIA, they continue playing gigs with John (ex. XANADU) as a support keyboardist and rehearsing in order to keep the band going, rising further more and more fans. Now they have been writing new songs and rehearsing for the coming second full length album. At the same time, they are promoting themselves to labels overseas to rush out to the world.
