MONEY MAKIN RECORDS (MMR) has been around since the mid 90's based out of Kansas City, the label has released numerous independent albums and videos. Established in 1996 by MR. MONEYMAKER, the label signed it's 1st group "PLAYERS ASSOCIATION." The group consisted of (FLO, KNACK & MR. MONEYMAKER). They released their 1st LP which consisted of 4 songs, the album went on to do between 5,000 to 6,500 units independently. Promoted & distributed by MONEY MAKIN RECORDS (MMR). PLAYERS ASSOCIATION eventually was released of their contracts do to personal matters. With MR. MONEYMAKER holding position at the label as producer & CEO he signed 2 new artists to the label in 1997. The 2 artist were (KEVIN WATSON & SCOLE'ON), with MR. MONEYMAKER they reformed the group PLAYERS ASSOCIATION and went on to release the album (BALLINS EVERYTING), the album did well on the streets and resurrected the label. The BALLINS EVERYTHING album went on to sell 8,200+ units independently. The group followed up with it's next release in 1999-2000 titled (RULES & REGULATIONS). During the process of finishing the 1st single on the album the label did merger deal with a New York based entertainment company headed by Andrea Katz (KATZ ENTERTAINMENT 516-864-1100) for representation. PLAYERS ASSOCIATION released their 1st single off the album titled (EVERYBODY GET UP), the song received great response from the fans. That opened the door for the 2nd single which was titled (BOOTY'S OFF DA WALL), with the good reviews they received on the 1st single the label decided to release a video with the single, the video got great recognition on (BET's) underground video show UNCUT. This was a big move by the label and it's management staff which consits of BIG A (BIG A MANAGEMENT 816-916-0898) & PRETTY T (PRETTY T MANAGEMENT 816-349-2790). That pushed the RULES & REGULATION album to do 12,000+ UNITS. The music was buzzing the streets so well that the label decided to sign some new artist the 1st artist signed was "MONEY MIKE", he released a hot single in 2003 titled (DAT MOUTH) following the same blueprint with packaging the single with the music video DVD, became another successful move by the MONEY MAKIN RECORDS CREW, the single also received recognition on (BET'S) UNCUT video show. The single was doing good until the incarceration of MONEY MIKE "FREE MONEY MIKE. " Leaning on the shoulders of super-producer & artist MR. MONEYMAKER the label decided to release his solo album, with being one of the masterminds behind most of MMR's success it left him with no choice but to do the damn thang, so the label worked hard in 2007 for the release of MR. MONEYMAKER's solo deput in 2008 titled (THE BIGGER THE FRAMES...THE BIGGER THE GAME...). This new release can only be found online @ CD BABY.COM OR @ WWW.MONEYMAKIN RECORDS.COM.
