About Me

My style is like nothing and everything. I change but remain the same like the seasons. You might hear Reggae influence in my sound, you might hear Rock, you might hear Electro and electronic sounds, you might hear an indian tabla, or a trinidadian steel drum, or a jamaican one-drop, you might hear dancehall and groovy synth riddims. I enjoy the soul of music and I try to make all my music have SOUL-this is the essence of what I think all good music has so I try to put what I can of myself and my soul into my sound.I dig all kinds of music and I try to honor the music and the word when i compose something - not saying every word or sound has to be precise or perfect, rather, I go for an overall atmosphere, I want my music to move you in some way, mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, artistically. I especially want to inSPIRE you some way with the sound.If it matters, i was born in Brooklyn New York, my parents are Jamaicans, and my family lives all over the world. Right now, i'm living in Asia, in Japan to be proper. Japan is a beautiful and interesting culture and country-I hope I can bring some of the beauty and mystery of Japan into my music.My latest, "Multi Culti", is a full-power mixture of some sounds I was feeling last year - I performed at several shows in cities like Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, and sort of perfected some of my riddims and tunes. It's a peep into the dancehall vibe I was able to catch last year, with some multicultural references and sounds---I am rapping in Japanese on a couple songs, and my female counterpart "Tzuru" has a very soulful and real VOICE which you can hear on a few tunes. She's a dope Japanese vocalist, scatting, very soulful voice, i'd compare her to a Japanese Mary J. BLige---but i'm partial. Influences: ..How does one suddenly change one's influences? Simple. U don't "change", u delete and add and update and rearrange......lately i'm into The Power Of Now, or trying to be anyway, not sure what music i'm listening to, just know what it isn't recently, sorta left Zeppelin and Hendrix and Queen and that stuff behind, at least for now, not hearing much new in Reggae that is really any different than what i loved before...had Bob DYlan's greatest on my disc for a minute, Radiohead carried me through last year as well, trying to find something in hip hop, got Tribe Called Quest on the headphones this morning, was listening a bit to SOuls Of Mischief the other day...me and wifey keep George Winston Piano and other assorted colours, Verve, she still seems to dig Norah Jones, which is all good to me, SInead O'Connor is in my mind for some reason, Depeche Mode, The Cure/Robert Smith, Morrissey--that's good stuff there, been listening a bit to LOVE and The DOors also i suppose, Underworld, the snow outside is falling like crazy, it is the first snow of the season, it couldn't be more beautiful. Crazy really, soft white snow falling from the sky............
