Zorro (snatched from the Spanish for "fox") is the secret swashbuckling alias of the seemingly effete Don Diego de la Vega, a nobleman living in Spanish and Mexican-era California. He defends the people of the land against tyrannical governors, sly dogs, and other like-minded, woe-begotten villains - and is not only much too cunning and fox-like for the bumbling authorities to be caught, but rarely breaks a sweat and delights in publicly humiliating those self-same foes with his gay blade.
