About Me

Heidi Propp, born June 4, 1981 in Toronto, Canada, began her musical career at age six, singing with countless choirs and mastering piano, sax and eventually guitar. She has appeared as a soloist in the stage play ‘Hair’, and has sung alongside Pavarotti in the summer of 1995 for then-President Bill Clinton. She has also performed at the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, and opened the 1999 Peace Games with the national anthem. In 2002 she won ‘Best Female Vocalist’ at the IMTA Awards in New York City. Returning to Toronto she entered the studio with producer Steve Sherman and recorded a single for the project 'Wonder Girl'. In 2004, Heidi collaborated with Canadian fiction author and songwriter, Laurie Lonsdale, providing vocals on a mini-soundtrack that complemented Lonsdale’s award-winning novel “Wild Side”, a rock 'n' roll romp that was voted among the Top Ten novels of 2004 in an international readers' poll. The 3 songs featured included “Phantom Lover”, “Turn the Page”, and “Strong and Wild” are a direct result of lyrics contained within the book. Positive feedback prompted Heidi and Laurie to team up again in 2005, this time to write and produce Propp’s current CD, "Strong and Wild". With the talented Steve Sherman guiding the project and Lonsdale as co-writer on ten of the twelve songs, the collection is a mix of good-time rock ‘n’ roll, power-pop, adult contempo and ballads, with a touch of the blues added for good measure. The finished product is a true testament to Heidi's multi-talent, as well as her adaptable personality and fun-loving spirit. The release party at Toronto’s Original Motorcycle Café and Lounge (Feb. 18, 2006) was a big success and has led to a number of projects currently in the works. In October ’07 Heidi was bestowed the title of ‘Best Female Rock Artist’ at the first-ever Toronto Exclusive On-Line Music Awards.
