About Me

Mark Lund is a television personality, producer and former publisher of several magazines as well as a published author.Lund is perhaps best known as one of the three judges on FOX’s Skating with Celebrities that aired in 2006 to great ratings and abundant attention. Lund shared the judging panel with Olympic Champion Dorothy Hamill and veteran coach John Nicks. While the skaters could count on Hamill for a kind word and Nicks for an acid remark, Lund was the judge on whose words the skaters hung. He was known for his attention to detail and pointed humor. His ability to break it down and spell it out come from more than a decade of television appearances. As the founder of International Figure Skating magazine in 1993, which he built to the World’s largest for that sport, Lund was often selected by various news organizations to comment and analyze the sport. While serving as a figure skating analyst for CNN during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Lund was one of the first reporters to identify French judge Marie-Reine Le Gougne as the center of the judging controversy in the pair competition. During the course of those Games, Lund made a total of 220 media appearances, including ABC, CBS, MSNBC, FOX, ESPN, BBC, NPR, CBC and CTV, to provide insight on the workings of the sport of figure skating.Lund has profiled some of leading names in the skating world including such stars as Scott Hamilton, Kristi Yamaguchi, Tara Lipinski, Peggy Fleming and Michelle Kwan. In November 2002, Lund authored his first book, Frozen Assets: The New Order of Figure Skating. Lund has not been associated with International Figure Skating since 2004.An avid fan of science fiction and enthusiastic supporter of the exploration of space, in 2006 Lund wrote a feature-length screenplay in the sci-fi/drama genre titled First World (www.firstworldmovie.com). The premise behind First World commences in the 1960’s when NASA discovers a vast and advanced civilization in the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon. Up until that time, this civilization had been shielded from all Earth-based detection devices and was not visible to the naked eye or through Earth-based telescopes. During the Apollo missions, false images were transmitted and a worldwide cover-up began. First World begins in the year 2018 when the Chinese government announces it is sending its first manned mission to the Moon. What does this civilization represent and why was it covered up?To bring First World to life, along with his efforts to secure funding for the long version, Lund condensed his screenplay and produced a 2 min. trailer and 25. min. short film, both of which may be viewed at www.myspace.com/firstworldmovie and www.firstworldmovie.com The short is presently being screened at numerous science fiction conventions in the United States. Today, Lund resides in Massachusetts as he pursues his production work and on air opportunities. He is represented by the law firm of Raskin Peter Rubin & Simon and by IMG. See www.marklundtv.com for additional info and clips. The trailer for FIRST WORLD is below. FIRST WORLD - New Official Trailer
