I am a researcher working in Japan. Currently I am researching the career experiences of improvised and jazz musicians internationally. Until recently most research on improvising and jazz musicians has tended to focus on single countries or localities, sometimes implying to be speaking about the musics universally. The aim of this study is to provide comparative primary on the career experiences of improvising and jazz musicians from a number of countries around the globe. The study also considers the interconnections among musicians internationally. This is part of a wider study on improvising and jazz musics as aesthetic and cultural practices.I moved to Japan a number of years ago now, and have a young child. We are raising to enjoy improvised, jazz and all other kinds of music possible. She has been making sounds and music with the piano since she could touch the keys.Concert Venue:We are starting our new concert venue from late Autumn of 2007 in Southern Japan. Essentially the venue can be reserved by musicians touring Japan.
The venue space is open on weekends only, and can seat about 40 people.
We will feature small ensemble, improvised music, jazz, modern classical music, chamber music, and will consider most other musics too. The musicians are the organisers of the events, we will publicise the concerts to gather audience. The musicians get the money from the ticket sales. If you wish to perform there, please send details of the proposed event, preferred dates, etc., and we can discuss the possibilities with you..The venue is called Braeside Music, in Tamana City, Kyushu,
