DJ KENSEI has started his DJ career since 1986 in Tokyo. After experience of many CLUB’s start-up DJ or Resident DJ. KENSEI has released many MIX CD / ANALOG / TAPE and now expanding career as remixer, producer, and recording artist. Representative works are,,,

In 1995, “indopepsychics” is formed with D.O.I(engineer), NIK (record collector) and KENSEI. Indopepsychics produced many HIPHOP artists, also explored electronica sounds, played opposite to Kit Clayton or Monolake. Joined with “NIKE PRESTO” and collaborated with overseas artists. And KENSEI finally compiled two albums from his own label, PROGRESSIVE FOrM.

Also in 1995, KEMURI PRODUCTIONS (DJ YAS, DJ刃頭, DJ HIDE and KENSEI) is started. One memorable performance was the Live using 10 turntables, featuring DJ KRUSH. Joined Disney Resort 50th Anniversary event and performed gig

KENSEI traveled in RANTA-island (Tai) for a month and DJing at omlette dub in 2002. Flight to HAITI and did recording for BANANA PAPER PROJECT. Form a organic sound group “FINAL DROP (GORO, KAORU INOUE, KONDO and KENSEI)” and released a DVD recorded in Yakushima. Then KENSEI worked with legendary old-school / graphic artist, RAM:ELL:ZEE for music production.

In 2003, launched OUTERLIMITS Inc. together with DJ HIRAGURI + VJ 10K, and organized / promoted several party and released some mixed CD. OUTERLIMITS Inc. are called to a European music festival GRAZ03.

Formed “NUDEJAZZ” with famous jazz organ player, KANKAWA in 2004. Kankawa’s organ and Kensei’s laptop-sets (Ableton Live) soon became popular and they released first album after many gig experience, such as YOKOHAMA HONMOKU JAZZ Festival or project “TOKKO / UNIVERSAL” “AFRICAN JAG (Es遊Es)” works.

From some inspiration of NUDEJAZZ, KENSEI currently, teamed a new unit JLD (Jaz Luvs Dub) with m.a.b.o, expanding 60’s Jazz spirits into modern music forms. As residency, DJing at Roots N “COFEE & CIGARETTES (every forth Tuesday)” with SAGARAXX, T.SEKI(SOUNDS OF BLACKNESS), AKIHITO (TRASH MASTERS), and TAIKAI aka AWT25.
