Intriguing release from a Japanese lady called Chihiro and her debut CD 'Voice'. In the melee of new releases from tiny labels worldwide we get sent in eager expectation of possible retail action, this baby really pricked our ears. It's a collection of utterly charming, twinkly electronic pop. Experimental but accessible, the songs are spacy nuggets of spectral sound that sound akin to early works by The Knife & suchlike. The word otherworldly fits this like a glove. A lass and her machines in perfect harmony. Really warm & intriguing, gently pushing boundaries. You can imagine her clapping her hands in delight as each button pressed & dial tweaked emits a whole plethora of ear caressing wonders. Then she occasionally coos some esoteric words alongside in harmony with her beautiful music. This is for fans of Mochipet & Joseph Nothing's more tranquil moments, Colleen or Psapp's pastoral wall of whirrs & clicks, lovers of classic ambient electronics & even old fans of Pizzicato 5's kitch future pop.
