BIO OF "ACKEE & SALTFISH"Twin of birth born December 10, 1966 in JAPAN NAGOYA city. Real name Akihiro aka "ACKEE" Kondo and elder brother Hiroyuki aka "SALTFISH" Kondo .With the influencing from punk rock music band "SEX PISTOLS" then, formed their own band "ROSE JETS" at high school student age. They were the open act on the band "STAR CLUB" that was a famous band from the same village, and they also went to cities East and West of JAPAN. After that started their own independent label "CHILD PAINTER" production in 1984. Now produce their 1st Mini Album, Title "YOU DON'T SAY SO!", It sold 1,000 copies in one month within an' independent circulation. These music was like, "REBEL MUSIC" that can be said running to punk rock and it meets "Reggae Music" with a peculiar groove, it gives itself up, and it meets "Reggae Dancehall Style", for example, artist such like,"Supercat" and "Ninjaman"etc.Then ACKEE went to Los Angeles as a single body in 1988. To meet with bassist "LOUIS JOHNSON" of "BROTHERS JOHNSON" and "Something with the music on earth" that flows to him he received was good. Also on his visit to Jamaica he and the guitarist of "ROSE JETS" at that time. After that, SALTFISH went to Brooklyn New York as a single body in 1989. Met the Son "NOEL ALPHONSO" of Great "ROLAND ALPHONSO" member of the "SkaTalites" (he was the drummer of Sister Carol's Band) . He staid in that community with "MORGAN HERITAGE" it was the time of summer. Get supports from Veteran DJ teacher "MAJOR MACKEREL" and Noel Alphonso they received. And it begins to walk on the road of "Reggae Dee Jay" (same as the rapper in Hip Hop Music). Soon after that he became the guest act with "BARLINGTON LEVY" and "FRANKIE PAUL" that gig was in New Jersey USA.After returned to JAPAN they found out that "Reggae Music" was out there as a spiritual massage to them. So, they begone to travel to Brooklyn New York both of them together. On December 8, 1990 looking for "Answer" within Reggae Music inquiring from the people in the music business. It extends to Jamaica Kingston 13, Waltham met the parents family of Roland Alphonso (stay at grandmother of Noel house) on the introduction of Noel Alphonso in the spring of 1991. Jamaica was coveted by the spirit of the "Entered village and it's people welcome them in to the village". The origin of 'ACKEE&SALTFISH' (AKI-AN-SALFISH as pronunciation) of their name. These name came from the national dish that represent a beautiful island of Jamaica. That's how Akihiro's alias is "Aki", and names that they pronunce inherited the same thing, and the combination from companions of Waltham gave the other duet's "SALTFISH" at that time. There was a DANCE (movable disco for outdoor) at the shop of the foundation sound system "Metro Media" in that area. Within that time Dee Jay "Danny Dread" ask them "If uno Can Dee Jay ?" and the answer was "Yah Man". So, it recalled the names of Japanese DJ "RANKIN TAXI" and "NAHKI". Now it turns July, 1991, they met up with Singer "Singing Melody". So, they started to go around the country at various DANCE and STAGE SHOW to perform within their stay in Jamaica.Then returns to New York again after staying there about some time, they joins up with SINGING MELODY again also MAJOR MACKEREL, and they went to Miami, Ohio, and also New York for a CONCERTS. After returning to JAPAN for "REGGAE JAPAN SPLASH" tour for artistes translating tittle of songs for artistes, that was a temporary job as a staff for NHK-TV footage in 1992. But within all of that ACKEE&SALTFISH kept their momentum going on and on through the years. Also searching for lyrical contents for recording a single for recording company.The first single on compilation CD album "HIT'S AGO BUSS" for "CHINA MAN Production" from JAMAICA for "Alpha Enterprises co.LTD." in Japan in May, 1995 release. After returning home for promotion of song tittle "EDUCATE" on that CD album.They use to commute with many studios, but the palace of early Dance hall Reggae was "KING JAMMYS RECORDING STUDIO". So when they return to Jamaica second time around for 1st album "NAH TEK BACK" production in 1996. Which was recorded at "KING JAMMYS RECORDING STUDIO" located in the community of Water House, which "KING JAMMYS" label was breaking up a lot of Dance hall Reggae Artistes at that time, while they visit JAMAICA.The experience at "ROSE JETS" is established making the best use of independent production "NISHIKI Communications". 1st album tour tittle "NAH TEK BACK TOUR '96" they traveling with their crew to the north side Hokkaido down to the south side of Kyushu and Okinawa. This promotional tour went to 25 places in JAPAN.It was not in "ACKEE & SALTFISH" thought to adapt overseas life, and "Answer" that began to be found from life in foreign countries lasting for five years. Their " ROOTS" was "Proud to live as Japanese". From Jamaica, get inspiration, music knowledge, but had own roots as a Japanese with consideration and own basis, they've continue to their new album approach. With that consideration as an artist makes them keeps still defending with the edge because of the name of "ORIGINAL JAPANESE". Then they recorded a TV commercial song for a SAKE company by the name "KARIYUSHI" from OKINAWA broth them a lot of rotation on the major broadcasting TV station in that city. Which made sales and popularity in that city with the out come sales of over 10000 copies. Now they achieve gold medals and a lot more sponsorship because that commercial song done very well.Regardless recorded their 4th album "STILLA STRUGGLE" long-awaiting fans was happy to achieve this album which was release in the market August, 2003. It becomes a sale of a full album of the shake for five years, and "Bright, happy ACKEE & SALTFISH" that keeps existing at the time same style as "Man's alive externals" that ACKEE & SALTFISH is alive and well. In addition, it became high finished of this duet production that ripe dignity and Okinawa Flavor newly acquired fans experience fuse. Now the tour of the 4th album "STILLA STRUGGLE TOUR 2003" started that carried them out in to 29 places (An additional performance is included) in the whole country starting with selector "CHAKA" from "REVOLUTION GANG" in their home town Nagoya JAPAN.The year of 2004 power keep going on, so they started their production of a new score. "Aichi REGGAE BREEZE 2004" Event. Now open in the Minami-Chita-cho townsman hall ground specially-installed stage concert (in the old inland sea high school).Next trip to JAMAICA they started recording production for NISHIKI Comnunications record label release of combination singles with artist such as "SINGING MELODY" tittle track "SWEET JAMAICA" which the video and 45.RPM. getting heavy rotation in JAMAICA now. Also, "CHUCK FENDA" tittle track "RASTA LOVE", "BUJU BANTON" tittle track "JUSTICE", "MAJOR MACKEREL" tittle track "NAH GIVE UP", and also "MORGAN HERITAGE" song tittle "EVERY MAN SAY" to be release soon from the CD album "Bretheren".For "Aichi REGGAE BREEZE 2005" Event for promotion "SINGING MELODY", "MORGAN HERITAGE", "CHUCK FENDA", "RICHIE SPICE", and many Japanese artist for that concert. Now ACKEE & SALTFISH thinking to take their performance to more countries world wide, DJ and singing as a duet from Japan communicating with people in Japanese language, and Jamaican patois also English. Return to Jamaica with long waiting fans for promotion, for the single "SWEET JAMAICA" at the annual event "EAST FEST 2K5" ACKEE & SALTFISH strike again, BEENIE MAN's community concert, "BOB MARLEY birth day bash" in "TRENCH TOWN" international night, with artist "SPRAGGA BENZ", "LUCIANO", "BABY CHAM", "KIP RICH", "GYPTIAN", "L. A. LEWIS" and more artist as a give back to the king of reggae music icon "BOB MARLEY". For "Aichi REGGAE BREEZE 2006" Event for promotion "BUJU BAMTON" and many Japanese artist for that concert. At "STING 2006". Ackee and Saltfish, the Japanese deejay duo, offered important culinary tips with the line, 'haffi get the nookie, but me nah taste'.
