[rei harakami BIOGRAPHY]
Born in Hiroshima and is now living in Kyoto, Japan.
What we call an "Electronic musician" plays and mixes with Hard Disc recorder.
Rei released his debut album 'unrest' (1998) on the Sublime Records label.
His follow up albums, 'o*paq' (1999) and 'red curb' (2001) released showcased his skills as an artist and producer.
Rei's growing reputation has resulted in him becoming an in demand producer and collaborator for artists such as UA, Great 3 and Coldcut.
His recent collaboration as an artist and producer on Akiko Yano's album has resulted in widespread recognition in Japan.
Rei manages to regularly rock the stage at some of Japan's big festival like "Fuji Rock Festival","RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL","sonar sound tokyo".
On the international stage, Rei has been actively participating in several music showcases in France and Germany, also "Sonar 2005" in Barcelona, Spain appeared with Shiro Takatani (from performance unit, "dumb type", as a visual collaboration).
His 4th album 'lust' (2005), caught on so quickly in many music circles.
He then continued to release the album 'wasuremono' and 'Colors of the Dark (project album for the Guinness recorded planetarium, MEGASTAR-II) ' (2006).
In recent years, he worked for Nike+, CM song for Japanese magazines,
composed the music for the movie "Ten nen Kokekko".
Also as a producer and artist, Rei collaborates with Akiko Yano. Their unit called "yanokami" released its 1st Album in August 2007, performed at festival like "Rock in Japan" and "Summer Sonic".
Regarding the music for the movie "Ten nen Kokekko", Rei received 2 music awards in the Japanese movie award!
In 2008, yanokami's original album "yanokamick -yanokami English version-" is released.

広島生まれ、京都在住。
'97年、アナログ「rei harakami ep」でそのキャリアをスタートさせる。
'98年、ファーストアルバム『unrest』、'99年に 2ndアルバム『opa*qã€ãƒªãƒªãƒ¼ã‚¹ã€‚ãã®ç‹¬è‡ªã®æ¸…å »‰ã•ã¨ç¹Šç´°ã•ãŒç¹”り成す、水彩画のようなタ㠃ƒãƒã®éŸ³æ¥½æ€§ãŒå›½å†…外で幅広く支持される。
'01年の3rdアルバム『red curb』以降、矢野顕子、UA、ショコラ等の作品 のプロデュースや、くるり、ナンバーガール 、Great3等の楽曲のリミックスを手がけ、'05å¹´ には4thアルバム『lust』を発表、大きな話題だ¨ãªã‚‹ã€‚
'06年には未発表曲を中心に集めたアルバム『 わすれもの』リリースの他、日本科学未来館 のプラネタリウム「MEGASTAR-II cosmos」のコンテンツ『暗やみの色』の音楽を 担当し、同名の限定盤CDã‚‚ãƒªãƒªãƒ¼ã‚¹ã€‚å¤ã«ã¯å …¨å›½5箇所を廻るツアー「ふっくらなのにしわ しわライブツアー」を敢行。この年は「Rock In Japan Festival」、「Rising Sun Rock Festival」など夏フェスにも矢野顕子とのコン㠃“ã§å‡ºæ¼”ã€æ€ã„ãŒã‘ãªã„ãƒ¦ãƒ‹ãƒƒãƒˆã®èª•ç”ŸãŒå¤§å –é‡‡ã‚’浴びた。
また海外での活動も’05年のSonar--スペイン--å ‡ºæ¼”をはじめフランス、ドイツでのライブな㠁©å¤šå²ã«æ¸¡ã‚‹ã€‚その圧倒的なオリジナリティ㠁¯ã€ä¸–界でも唯一無二である。
'07年には「Nike+」のために提供したiTunes Storeのみで販売されるコンパイル・アルバム㠀ŽRiver: Nike+ Original Run』のリリース、夏公開の映画『天然コケッ コー』の劇中の音楽制作、また夏には矢野顕 子とのユニット「yanokami」の1stアルバムをリ㠃ªãƒ¼ã‚¹ã€‚「Rock In Japan」や「Summer Sonicã€ãªã©å¤ãƒ•ã‚§ã‚¹ã¸ã®å‡ºæ¼”ã‚„ã€å¹´æœ«ã«ã¯çŸ¢é ‡Žé¡•å­ã€Œã•ã¨ãŒãˆã‚‹ã‚³ãƒ³ã‚µãƒ¼ãƒˆã€ã¸yanokamiとだ—て出演、その他にも小学館の人気女性誌「Og gi」のCM音楽を担当するなど、幅広く活動しだŸã€‚
‘08年、「天然コケッコー」で制作した音楽㠁Œã€ã€Œç¬¬62回毎日映画コンクール」「第3回お㠁Šã•ã‹ã‚·ãƒãƒžãƒ•ã‚§ã‚¹ãƒ†ã‚£ãƒãƒ«ã€ã«ã¦ãã‚Œãžã‚Œé Ÿ³æ¥½è³žã‚’受賞。
3月にはyanokamiの英語版アルバム「yanokamick」゠’リリース。
今年の夏もソロライブやヤノカミのライブ出 演とその他色々活動中。
