About Me

Leeland is a Christian pop and rock band hailing from Baytown, TX. Though the lead singer, Leeland Mooring, was only 17 during the recording of their debut album, their music has been widely accepted. Also, in spite of their overtly Christian lyrics, their melodic-driven sound has appealed to the secular market as well. Since the release of their new and first album, Sound of Melodies, Leeland has captured the hearts of so many people, and have toured around the country living up to the expectations fans. They have been getting great reviews from magazines, websites, and even other musicians. Leeland Mooring himself has worked closely with Christian artist Michael W. Smith, and has had a part in the writing of at least seven of the songs on Smith's new album, Stand. On December 7, 2006, Leeland was nominated for a Grammy for Best Christian Pop Album. -from Wikipedia

[Leeland Plays to 70,000 Fans]
GRAMMY and Dove award-nominated band Leeland played in front of 70,000 - their biggest audience to date - at Creation East on Friday, June 29, at the Agape Farm outside Pittsburgh, Pa. "When we got on stage we were so nervous," comments frontman Leeland Mooring. "We were playing in front of 70,000 people. It was ridiculous! You have to remember we were practicing in a funeral home two years ago and leading worship for our youth group of 70." The band's first appearance at the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Ill. was the next day, so the dedicated rockers drove straight through the night in order to perform for their fans in Illinois. Leeland is heading for the west coast next, with a concert on July 7 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif.
