I have many Japanese friends in MySpace and often I see comments from people who say they can't see the Japanese text - it's like this - %&<(*@ - or it is Japanese text like this - これは、日本の単語テスト - but they don't understand Japanese (like me)
To read the Japanese text you will need to use web translation like Google Language Tools.
To translate webpage into Japanese use
http://translate.google.com/translate_t
Scroll down to - Translate a Web Page – type or copy/paste in - (the webapage address / link you want to see) - go to right hand side of this box and click .. down box arrow – select – Japanese to English – click on Translate button – the webpage will then automatically translate into English. Click on any link from the homepage and most of the pages should also be in English. (you may also need to install or enable Japanese Language Pack in Windows if you can't see Japanese text – search in Windows Help for instructions)
If you have Google Toolbar (or other translation enabled toolbar) right click mouse and scroll down (drop down) list to – page info – then select – Translate Page into English.
PS - the translations using any program are not as correct as a translation done by a bilingual person, however they will give you some idea as to what the person is writing about.
There are many other websites that will translate Japanese to English like Yahoo, Altavista, Excite . Please feel free to make any comments about other good programs to use or ask any questions.
