I am a student. I live in the outskirts of Kyoto close to Gion in Japan. I have made this website to help unravel the mysterious happenings in and around my town. When I was younger (in primary school) there were rumors going around that a young American born baby was being brought up at the Ichiriki Ochaya in the heart of the pleasure district in Gion. It was a joke for amongst me and my friends. What self respecting Ochaya would ever raise an American girl as a Geiko? As I got older, I heard more and more rumors that this was true. I never beleived it because this was against all Japanese tradition. The rumors grew that, this girl was magical and that she far exceeded all other Geiko in her abilities in the arts. I still dismissed this as a publicity stunt by the Ochaya to gain more interest and add mystery to an already mysterious profession.
As time went on, there were more rumors going around town of mosnters and evil that surrounded the Ochaya. At one point the Ochaya was surrounded by guards for many years. I personally have saw them many times outside the Ochaya walls and on its porch. They were all big men, and they were always dressed in black jump suits, like men of the military. As for the American girl, I heard that she did actually exist and that she performed the most beautiful cerimonies and parties, but only for high ranking military and government officials. No one that I know has ever seen her. (Or will admit to seeing her) There were quite a few sightings, but it reminds me of the American myths that people see Elvis Presley still to this day.
About two years ago, I heard from a friend that this girl had been taken from the Ochaya and that she was taken to the hills, not but 50 miles from here. It is a secluded place. The rumors still circulate that she is in a camp and that she has become part of the Clan of Sanada. Even I had never heard of this until I did some research and found that this was a group of assassins many years ago (circa 1500s) where they were used as assassins and soldiers for warring clans. These are the people that modern people call ninja. But they were much more than that. Still the rumors persist, and that this girl is being trained to be a killer at a very young age. I have made this site to uncover this. With the occasional strange happenings and deaths in Japan, I believe through things I hear and the strangeness of all of these happenings that This Clan of Sanada still exists and is still working in an ultra secret capasity. If you know anything about this, please contact me and join my cause to uncover this archaic group. I have been reading the blogs of a certain myspace person that has some of the same qualities as the story I am describing and I have asked him what he thinks about this and it is true. He has not answered me yet. It struck me because his picture is the same symbol that the guards at the Ochaya were wearing. That is all I can say for now. I will say more when I fell like I can.
